DholBelfast is a drumming group specialising in the Punjabi Dhol Drum. The drum is a traditional feature at Indian festivals, weddings and ceremonies.

DholBelfast was created by ArtsEktafor the Nine Nights Event in 2015.  A core group of key players received a masterclass and passed on the knowledge to a massed group of 50 drummers.

Since that event, a core group of up to a dozen drummers has emerged who have been working on developing skills and a performance repertoire for events and to provide the traditional soundtrack to weddings and festivals.

In addition, DholBelfast runs classes at various stages of the year for those interested in learning the dhol drum and working toward the goal of participating in large scale events such as the Belfast MELA, Nine nights or other public cultural celebrations.  If you are interested in learning a new instrument and joining us at an event, just visit our Facebook page and drop us a message.

The tutorial content on the website is only accessible to registered participants.
